Jonnie Stewart Takes Control of the
AWA at WRESTLERACE 7.0
Things were hot in Indianapolis as a sold-out
ringside witnessed what could very well be what the future
holds for the AWA. Vice-President Jonnie Stewart officially
announced that he was personally taking over management of
the American Wrestling Association and denounced the Presidency
of AWA Board of Director's and AWA / CWF Mid-Atlantic promoter
Danny Wenkel. He further stated to the live audience that
he had "people in high places" that would replace
Danny Wenkel as not only the President of the AWA but also
as the Chairman of the AWA Board of Directors. Convenient
for the power hungry Stewart, was Danny Wenkel's absence at
WRESTLERACE, something Stewart was well aware of when making
his claims. Also obvious by his absence, was former President
Dale Gagne. Although he was replaced by Danny Wenkel in March,
wrestling fans have speculated that Gagne would return in
"storyline fashion" at WRESTLERACE 7.0. Stewart
wouldn't comment on Gagne's whereabouts when asked or even
if Gagne will ever be seen again in the AWA. He did however
reassure inquisitive fans that Gagne didn't blow up in a limousine
and was very much still alive.
Confident in his new-found, self-appointed power of authority,
Stewart started off WRESTLERACE 7.0, by introducing the AWA
World Tag-Team Champions, "The New Generation Dynasty"
Ric Converse and Xsiris. He then immediately stated, "Oh
yeah, they won't be here because I've fired them". Stewart
claimed to the shocked fans in attendance that he had fired
the AWA / CWF mainstays and World Champions due to their "unprofessional
conduct", never explaining exactly what that meant. Reasoning
as the previous holders of the AWA World Tag-Team Championship
and under continued protest by Steve Corino, Stewart awarded
the championship back to the "Old School Blondes".
Can he do that? Unfortunately, history will reveal that he
did.
Here's a quick recap of WRESTLERACE 7.0 and the results
from Indianapolis, Indiana June 13, 2007 (photos by Scott
Romer):
Indianapolis' Own Dick "The Bruiser" Junior with
Bruiser Dog pinned Salvatore Sincere
AWA Power Pro Wrestling's Dick Foley beat AWA
Brew City Wrestling's Dinn T. Moore with his version of the
mandible claw.
Beauty vs. The Geek:
Dexter Poindexter pinned "The Picture of Perfection"
Noah Lott to win the girl!
AWA Brew City Wrestling's and Harley Race trainee Katie Syren
pinned Josie.
"Krazy K" Kirby Mack kept his winning ways to retain
the AWA World Light Heavyweight Championship against Sharkboy
and Zach Gowen in a triple threat match ordered by Jonnie
Stewart (first it was Gagne, now it's Stewart - can the "Krazy"
one catch a break?)
Marcus Alexander "Buff" Bagwell &
The Patriot reunited as STARS & STRIPES beating the newly
claimed AWA World Tag-Team Champions VP Jonnie Stewart and
"The Trademark of Excellence" Ricky Landell and
were awarded new title belts.

TJ MACK BETRAYS KRAZY K, CLAIMS WORLD
TITLE
The AWA reached new heights, literally, Saturday,
December 2, 2006 in
Burlington, North Carolina at the AWA / CWF Carolina Sports
Arena when disputed AWA World Light Heavyweight Champion's
"Krazy K" Kirby Mack and Xsiris put their bodies
on the line in what fans are saying is one of the best matches
they've ever witnessed. Sanctioned as the first ever ladder
match for the AWA World Light Heavyweight Championship in
the history of the American Wrestling Association, a man not
even wrestling in the match became the NEW AWA World Light
Heavyweight Champion under rules that "the first man
to climb the ladder and take possession of both disputed title
belts, would become the new, undisputed champion". Seizing
the opportunity of a lifetime and turning his back on his
own brother, TJ Mack, 1/2 of the incredibly popular tag-team
"Team Macktion", along with the longest running
AWA World Light Heavyweight Champion of all time, Kirby Mack,
firmly drove a stake between what could easily be coined as
"brotherly love".
In just over 30 minutes, both "Krazy K" Kirby Mack
and Xsiris climbed separate ladders to claim their gold when
from over 12 feet high, "Krazy K" positioned himself
to deliver his patented "OverDoZe" (a one-of-a-kind,
uniquely positioned leg-drop of sorts) on a then helpless
Xsiris. As the first man up, Kirby again began to ascend the
ladder, clearly in a position to win his title back when AWA
President Dale Gagne entered the ring with a chair to attempt
to take out the "Krazy One" himself. TJ Mack, appearing
to "have his brother's back", blindsided Gagne,
allowing "Krazy K" to attempt to once again climb
the ladder and claim one of the AWA's most prized possessions.
Virtually out of nowhere, TJ knocked over the ladder his brother
was climbing, looked up at both belts, scaled a separate ladder
and became the NEW AWA World Light Heavyweight Champion. Whether
it was planned or not (and by whom) is arguable but what really
did go through the mind of TJ Mack may never be known.
AWASTARS attempted to get comments from a visibly dejected,
angry and hurting former Champion immediately after the match-up
only to be turned down by a personal friend of Kirby's simply
stating that when he's ready, he'll make a statement. This
much however is known, we wouldn't want to be the new Champion
"The Man" TJ. Nothing's worse than a brother scorned.

WORLD TAG TITLE CHANGE LATER RULED NO CONTEST
The following is a an official press release from the AWA
Board of Directors:
Minneapolis, Minnesota - A written protest has been
filed by Steven Corino and
Richard Landell, collectively known and referred to as the
"Old School Blondes".
The AWA Board of Directors were notified this date of actions
taking place
during an AWA sanctioned World Tag-Team Championship match
on Saturday, December 2, 2006 in Burlington, North Carolina,
against opponents Tank Lawson and Rob McBride.
Mr. Corino brought the following specific details to this
Board's attention
regarding the match in question:
1. Mr. Landell was tossed over the top rope (recognized as
a disqualification
in AWA/CWF) by Tank Lawson.
2. A pair of brass knuckles were introduced into the match
and used on both him
and his partner.
3. The referee was inadvertently knocked down.
4. AWA World Heavyweight Champion "The First" Ric
Converse interjected himself into the match by both physically
attacking Mr. Corino and counted a pin fall as an un-sanctioned
referee.
Utilizing a pretense set by former AWA President Stanley Blackburn,
the AWA
Board of Directors, after viewing a copy of the footage provided
by current AWA President Dale R. Gagne, have taken all facts
in consideration as presented. We clearly do not support all
of the actions perpetrated by Mr. Corino and Mr. Landell during
the match however the facts can not be argued. Therefore the
match from December 2, 2006 in Burlington, North Carolina
will be determined a NO CONTEST. The "Old School Blondes"
remain the AWA World Tag-Team Champions.
In the best interests of the fans, we will certainly sanction
an upcoming
re-match between both of these teams.

SUPERCLASH '06 IN LOUISIANA - A SUPER SUCCESS!
The WWE's loss was the fans in
Louisiana's gain as "Superhero In Training" Rosey
soundly defeated the challenge of Salvatore Sincere.
New to the AWA, the gigantic
masked "Cross Examiner" (rumored
to be a real, high buck trial attorney) easily pinned Kimchee,
the long-time, mysterious handler of the Ugandan Headhunter
Kamala. Is he really that mysterious? With the
stipulation that the loser must remove their mask, the Cross
Examiner ripped Kimchee's mask off before being saved with
a towel around the face by the AWA World Tag-Team Champions,
The Old School Blondes.
In a triple tag-team qualification
match-up, three separate teams comprised of the Heartbreak
Express, the father/son combination of AWA Hawaii's
JT Wolfen & SickDogg and the incredibly
popular brothers, AWA World Light Heavyweight Champion "Krazy
K" Kirby & TJ Mack - Team Macktion, all
competed for the opportunity to meet AWA World Tag-Team Champions,
"The Old School Blondes" Steve Corino & Ricky
Landell in a future rematch. In the end, JT Wolfen &
Sickdogg walked out of the match-up victorious.
"Dr. Death" Steve Williams' stand out trainees Robby
Murdoch lost to Scotty Pride in
an AWA try-out match.
Making his "official"
in-ring come-back, the "Illustrious" Jonnie
Stewart started out his new record with a loss to
a moonsaulting Zach Gowen, quickly becoming
a household name in the AWA.
The legendary Sam Houston,
son of former WWE and WCW agent Grizzly Smith, as well as
the brother of Jake "The Snake" Roberts and former
WWF Women's Champion Rockin' Robin, made a surprise appearance
to a standing ovation. Houston promised his fans that
he would be returning to "old school" and the AWA.
AWA World Tag-Team Champions,
"Old School" Steve Corino & "The
Trademark of Excellence" Ricky Landell - The Old School
Blondes, managed by Jonnie Stewart, retained their
titles by DQ when Corino deliberately kicked the referee in
a match-up against The Patriot and "Dr. Death"
Steve Williams. Patriot and the Doc were seconded
by area radio celebrity Roger Gill who kept the packed Florida
Parishes Arena on their feet.
In the main event for the AWA
World Heavyweight Championship, Champion "The
First" Ric Converse soundly beat the challenge
of Aaron "Jesus" Aguilera disputing
any claims that as a "marked man" he was vulnerable
to the former WWE Superstar.

the event can be purchased on our merchandise page.
